Maintenance - Inspection - Repair

Air Plane Rebuild

At the very least, all certified aircraft are required, by law, to receive one inspection per year. To keep the aircraft in a condition that will pass inspection requires maintenance. And lastly, all aircraft, no matter what, will sometimes need repair. Murray Aviation Services is here to help.

I began this my simply taking an avid interest in aircraft structure and building techniques. That quickly grew to building and restoring planes of my own and have since logged thousands of hours of such labor. Now as an A&P, I can also inspect Experimental Amateur Built (EAB), Experimental Light Sport (ELSA), and Special Light Sport (SLSA).

I have experience with almost all types of aircraft construction, including tube and fabric, wood, sheet metal and composite. While I do some basic wiring jobs, I do not consider myself an avionics expert by any means. However, if avionics play into a particular job, I do have contacts in the field willing to assist.

Need fabric and/or paint repairs? Whether it be a super glossy paint scheme or an economy latex paint job, I have experience with both. Let me know your needs.

Plane Paint Job

It's been estimated that at least 85% of LSAs are Rotax powered, and I'm sure that number holds true in ultralight world, too. I'm a Rotax repairman and have experience with both the various two strokes and the 912 series. When heavy maintenance or overhauls are required, I only work with reputable, recognized Rotax shops.

The most basic of condition inspections start at $300 and labor rates are $50 per hour for experimental, $65 per hour for certified aircraft. I'm happy to give free estimates (depending on location and circumstances) and can occasionally give better rates for long term repair/restoration work.

Also not to be forgotten is consultation and transporting services. This sport can be a bit bewildering to the newcomer. Your first aircraft purchase can be risky, and I can help cull out some of the problems. Don't get taken on that deal that sounds too good to be true, because it probably is. For transport, either by air or ground, please call for rates.
